About
Us
Hello!
I began trading in 1999, just as a bull market was ending so I trained through a
cyclical bear market. My background is
engineering, specifically modeling and simulation of heat flow and
electromagnetic signals in electronic components. The challenge
was manageable, as long as, one does not try to reinvent the wheel and
uses the proper tools. The challenge of modeling the financial
markets proves even more interesting. I began trading stocks full time in 2003. By
that time I had spent money on books, newsletters and advisory
memberships, one after another, but was unable to profit from all the
recommendations. It was unclear how closely or how loosely
to follow each recommendation. When I tried to follow a trade
recommendation it was often ill timed. My savings steadily
dwindled at a most uncomfortable and accelerating rate. Einstein's
definition of lunacy was, ". . . when people repeatedly do the same
thing and expect a different result".
It was
not until 2004 when I heard about Dr. Stephen Cooper's trading
methods did something begin to resonate. By this time I had
developed some firm opinions on what worked and, mostly, what did not. I
had begun to trade less frequently, entering trades more thoughtfully and
not
losing money. I wasn't making any meaningful profits yet but I was
halfway there. Dr. Cooper's goals and approach reinforced what I had
learned from experience. This was the key. He actually said, ". . . Trading profits are inversely
proportional to the quantity of trades made".
While I
had never heard it put that way before, I needed to have gained a
certain amount of real world experience in the emotionally charged world
of stock market greed and fear before I could hear it properly.
The normal work ethic had been very deeply ingrained in me. You know,
"the more you work, the more progress you make". Well, in
trading, that just isn't exactly the case.
The
bulk of the "work" needs to be applied to
understanding the markets, not in making a large number of trades.
For those not having time to study the markets extensively, the site
offers profitable
stocks and options
newsletters for the long term investor and the short
term trader. The newsletters follow trends of sectors and
industries and selects stocks based on a combination of fundamentals and
technical formations. Moreover, we openly share with you the
methodology with a goal of making you a consistently profitable trader.
WiserTrader.com
is also a provider of proven
trading systems
that were created by some of the best traders
in the business. These systems either have obvious exceptional
value or include a 90-day money back guarantee. Most of them have both
and transactions
are conducted on a secure basis.
These tools will enable you to step back and let profits
happen. That is the purpose of this
site. Maybe you will find something here that resonates with your
personal experience. The site is
operated by Desert Mountain Systems, an Arizona outfit. My
goal is to help traders make consistent profits through their mastery of
at least one trading system. Mastering a system involves
customizing it to your personality. Only about 12% of traders are
successful today and 80% of mutual funds do not match the average S&P
500 gain of about 7 to 10% a year. I believe that is because the percentage of traders that
use proven
trading systems is quite small. One should first learn
a single system well and then use it is a basis to expand future
learning and techniques.
The site tries to demystify and clarify rules for stock picking,
investing and trading. It posts links to investment conferences where many new investment ideas
catch fire. The site offers stock picks produced by some of the
more popular stock screening systems to show the obvious advantages that
a trading system provides. In all cases for each of the portfolios,
watch lists and options trades, an accounting of
the trading performance is available. Although every
effort is made to insure accuracy, we strongly suggest that you check
our data with other information sources and with a licensed broker
before making trades of your own.
